The gallery building of the “Germanisches Nationalmuseum” has been extensively renovated. The renovation works also included a renewal of the roof and the glazing of the ceiling skylights above the first floor, so the halls of the gallery building could be lit primarily by natural daylight again. A diverse collection of paintings, sculptures and wooden carvings are now presented in context to each other and in a continuous sequence of rooms.
