The new international greenfield airport at the Ulwe Kopar-Panvel region will spread over 1,160 ha of land and will be the second international airport in Mumbai Metropolitan Region. The flowing forms of the Lotus Flower, one of India’s national symbols, serve as a source of inspiration for the 3 Terminals. A self-confident reflection of contemporary design embodying a the elegance of a rich, architectural heritage. Lighting to enhance the volume of spaces and allowing to understand the building during the approach already. Soft light from the inside with additional accentuation to the external skin and contours. It communicates facettes of the lotus design element while showing an understanding of visual expectations and design elements.
